Solar Flush

Solar Flush is a game created in conjunction with the Solar One Classroom located in New York City. The game debuted at the CitySol festival in June 2008. It is modeled after poker and played with a special set of cards describing important facts about solar energy. Players used these facts to write letters through the collaborative-word-game "Exquisite Corpse", while simultaneously attempting to assemble the best poker hand. The game had hundreds of players and resulted in over 200 letters to the city's environmental commissioner to encourage solar energy usage and voice support for the New York Solar Initiative. The privately funded Solar One Classroom is freestanding, solar powered, and located on the East River.
