The Engines project harvests the best technical elements of games developed in PETLab and re-purposes them for repeated public use. For example, the software that drove the text-message system in Re:Activism, titled Grand Central, is made available for modding to create original games. Other Engines elements include the client and server software for "Specter, The Malaria Game" and the code that runs "Data Play", our data-visualization game. All these scripts have been modified to readily accept new inputs that change the content of the game while maintaining the software architecture. We are currently researching and considering presentation and support materials that will help disseminate these tools.
